Hitler Finds Out Scott Brown Won

Mon, Jan 25 2010 - 18:02 PM

LOLOLOL. This is hysterical. Of course, I'm the sort who likes good satire. If you're not that sort, this might not make you smile at all.  In case you're not in on the joke, I'll give you a head start. There's this movie, see...it's about Hitler. It's entitled Downfall. It didn't enjoy much commercial success, but one particular clip from the movie has been recycled on the interwebs for some time now. Same clip, different English subtitles. Watching just one will give you a good idea...

You'd Save Whatever's Cute and Squeals

Wed, Oct 21 2009 - 16:38 PM

Many of America's well-intentioned programs and laws are rooted in stupidity. One only has to look at the Endangered Species Act to know that this is true. Compare these two endangered species: Since both the Ocelot and the Tooth Cave Spider are endangered, doesn't it seem that they should receive equal time from environmental activists and politicians? That makes sense. Unfortunately, little about the ESA makes sense...but it's a reflection of our values as a society. Cute and cuddly animal...

Jack Webb Schools Obama on Healthcare

Thu, Sep 10 2009 - 11:33 AM

LOLOLOL. I love a good mashup. I loved Dragnet too. It's not long, but - while mostly tongue-in-cheek - it's a perspective seldom heard these days. ...

Obama's Iconography

Wed, Sep 9 2009 - 16:48 PM

As a freelance web designer, I'm fascinated by representative art. That is, when one thing represents another, a complex message can be communicated in a very simple manner. This goes back before I was a web geek...I remember wishing I could put a few companies' logos on my bedroom wall. I love icons, symbols, and glyphs. This interesting video explains a few elementary thoughts about President Obama's symbol...you know, the big O that appears everywhere. It's elementary, anyway, for people who...

I Pledge

Thu, Sep 3 2009 - 15:26 PM

...to not be stupid. I pledge to remember history. I pledge to think for myself. I pledge to avoid mixing sentimentality with politics. I pledge to continue not listening to actors and actresses who try to tell me how I should live. I pledge to vote for someone who is not Barack Obama in 2012. I pledge to fight propaganda wherever I find it. I pledge to be respectful when I disagree, but to be unafraid to disagree nonetheless. I pledge to fight for the principles that made America great, rather ...

Chuck Schumer (D-NY) Thinks We Don't Care About Pork

Fri, Feb 13 2009 - 11:30 AM

Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is apparently one of our country's 'best and brightest'. Otherwise, as the logic goes, he wouldn't have been elected to serve as one of New York's senators. I hope this 16-second clip turns out to be as disastrous for his political career as it is idiotic. I'm not saying that he's stupid...I don't pay that much attention to him. It's only hopelessly out of touch with the real world that he's supposedly serving. ...

Criminals for Gun Control

Tue, Jan 27 2009 - 17:03 PM

For me, gun control means holding the weapon with both hands. Actually, I don't own a gun...but I believe strongly in our right - as American citizens - to do so. I oppose any attempt at disarming law-abiding Americans. There are many reasons: logical, practical, ideological, historical, and so on. This tongue-in-cheek video puts clearly on display one of those reasons. ...the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. The Bill of Rights...

Obama's Best Attack Ad

Tue, Nov 4 2008 - 11:03 AM

It's time to vote! I'm very excited to again do my civic duty and exercise the freedom that makes America a truly great place. Rather than have my life outlined by my government, getting instructions on what I can do and where I can live and what I do for a living, I design my own life by my own effort. I can think of no greater freedom given by men. At the same time, I'm disheartened that we don't have better Presidential candidates. Despite his feather-ruffling maverickism (which I like), I'v...

Obama Must NOT Be a US Citizen

Fri, Oct 24 2008 - 12:16 PM

12 days ago, I posted a video that questions whether Barack Obama is actually a US citizen. If he's not, then (according to the US Constitution) he cannot be our President: No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident withi...

How Rich is Rich?

Wed, Oct 22 2008 - 14:34 PM

In this video, Barney Frank (D - MA) says that there are a lot of rich people we can tax to pay for government stuff. I wonder how many people realize that "rich" is a relative term. Virtually every American is rich when compared with most of the world's population. Are you rich? I certainly am. Not only do I live in a house, but I have a car. And 5 computers. And DVD players and digital cameras and smelly candles and soft, fluffy toilet paper. And snacks. There's a lot of class warfare go...

The White Value System

Mon, Oct 20 2008 - 12:50 PM

I read a lot of websites, and I've been online for a long (long) time...so I've seen a lot on the web. Because I'm a Christian, and used to be a pastor, and have churches as clients, I pay special attention to the statements of belief on church websites. I was pretty surprised by this one, from John McCain's North Phoenix Baptist Church: The White Value System North Phoenix Baptist Church adopted the White Value System, written by the Eugene Clairmont Trust, chaired by the late Thomas Grant ...

Are Conservatives 'One-Issue' Voters?

Sat, Oct 18 2008 - 15:39 PM

It's hard to watch political news coverage and find answers. All we get are more questions, or - at best - a quick confirmation of our own perspectives. The reason might be that nobody dwells on any one topic for long. I'd like to address a commonly-held idea that I find problematic: the rejection of abortion as a litmus test. Conservatives are sometimes "one-issue" people. I do think it's important to avoid closing one eye to reality, but all issues are NOT the same. Yes, we should be concerne...

McCain Roasts Obama

Fri, Oct 17 2008 - 11:35 AM

One of the highlights of an American election year is a Catholic charity dinner held by the Alfred E. Smith Foundation. One might think that certain presidential candidates would avoid being seen there, but pretty much everybody shows up. One of the reasons is that people can see the presidential candidates in a 'real-life' setting. Another reason is that, in recent years, the candidates give humorous speeches rather than serious ones. Last night was no exception. I expect that millions of blog...

Is Barack Obama a US Citizen?

Sun, Oct 12 2008 - 10:54 AM

With the US Presidential election coming in just a few weeks, you may see a few extra political posts here on GodWords. Why? Because...that's part of what interests me! An October Surprise is a news event that has the potential for changing the outcome of an election. Its name comes from the fact that most US elections are held in November...so a shocking news story can influence a lot of voters to change their mind. In 1980, Jimmy Carter may have lost to Ronald Reagan because of his announcem...

Analyzing 9 Criticisms of Sarah Palin

Sat, Oct 11 2008 - 12:50 PM

It's almost election time here in the US...and things are really heating up. The rhetoric is flying fast, and some people don't know what to make of it all. I'm here to help. There are two things I really hate in this world: inconsiderate people, and hypocrisy. It's the hypocrisy that I'm attacking here. Don't get me wrong: some of what I'm write about might not be actual hypocrisy. It might be ignorance...but it comes across the same way when people aren't willing to do a little thinking of thei...

Who's to Blame? Really?

Sat, Oct 4 2008 - 01:13 AM

A short time ago I wrote that the current financial crisis in America was caused by Democrats. Some of you didn't believe me. Now that we've all seen the video of Democrats claiming, in 2004, that there was no problem - that things should continue as they had been - I think it's time to say it again:The current financial crisis in America was caused by the Democratic party's ideals and by their inability to look in the mirror. Their failure to admit that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had serious pr...

Who's Responsible for the Current Financial Crisis?

Thu, Sep 25 2008 - 16:30 PM

The American economy isn't as weak - in my opinion - as everyone's making it out to be. Most of the Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac mortgages in question haven't defaulted...they're just riskier than average. Mutual funds aren't insolvent...the companies they're invested in are still viable. From where I stand, a lot of the shouting has little to do with the economy and much to do with this year's election. But, let's pretend for a moment that we're really in crisis.Who's responsible for the curren...

Obama's Church: Are You Kidding Me?

Fri, May 30 2008 - 12:05 PM

Somebody tell me this isn't real. Yeah, I know it's real...but I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around it anyway. Maybe I'd feel differently if I were a black man from the Old South, rather than a white man from the Old West. I can't say for sure, but I know this: this isn't preaching, and it's not Christianity. It's grandstanding political rhetoric and it doesn't belong behind a pulpit on a Sunday morning.I want to know what you think. Is this guy on track? Am I missing the boat? Am I g...
